A todos los Permacultores, Estudiantes en curso y profesionales en servicios relacionados con el medio ambiente, deseo en esta ocasión expresar mi opinión muy personal (aclaro) sobre menesteres que nos atañen a tod@s los que realizamos esta profesión.
Hoy en día es sumamente importante que conozcamos los derechos y obligaciones que nos exigen nuestra labor u oficio, pues ahora que este trabajo esta cobrando la fuerza necesaria y el impulso suficiente para poder verdaderamente gestar un rumbo importante y trascendente para este mundo, es cuando mas concientes y preparados debemos estar para afrontar los retos que se vislumbran en nuestro presente y futuro en orden de cumplir cabalmente con la misión que nos hemos propuesto; que es la de hacer de este mundo, un mundo más hermoso, mas glorioso y más vivo que nunca.
Lo que hacemos nosotros como permacultores y prestadores de servicios ambientales, asi como en cualquier otra profesión requiere seriedad, conocimientos y entrega, la cual se gana a base de tiempo, esfuerzo, responsabilidad y educación continua. Estarán de acuerdo conmigo que es imposible convertirse en un profesional sin cumplir con lo anteriormente mencionado.
De entre todas las profesiones humanas y servicios que un ser humano pueda ofrecer, pocas profesiones son tan nobles y tienen tanta utilidad para nuestro mundo como esta, por esa misma razón como permacultores y prestadores de servicios socio/ambientales tenemos derechos y responsabilidades que cumplir.
Entre los derechos y obligaciones que estamos en posición de exigir y cumplir, creo yo estos son los más importantes;
A que se respete nuestro trabajo y se reconozca nuestra labor, ya que precisamente por ser nuestros objetivos la regeneración, el fortalecimiento y la conservación del tejido natural y social en todos sus niveles, requiere de todo el apoyo de todos los niveles de gobierno y sociedad en general pues nos beneficia y nos involucra a todos en esta generación y las venideras.
A cobrar en tiempo y forma por nuestros servicios aquello que nosotros consideremos es lo justo para llevar a cabo este trabajo con decoro y eficiencia, hoy más que nunca en esta sociedad donde profesiones y trabajos que no representan en lo más mínimo un servicio o un beneficio real para la sociedad y la naturaleza generan millones y son remunerados y enaltecidos de manera totalmente desproporcionada, es cuando más merecemos una retribución justa y de acuerdo a la medida del trabajo que realizamos y no hay mayor señal de respeto ante el trabajo ajeno que cumplir con lo pactado. De igual manera tenemos derecho a negarnos a trabajar con quienes no toman con la misma seriedad y entrega esta profesión.
Cada persona establece su cuota y aquello que pide a cambio por su servicio, de acuerdo al nivel de profesionalismo que ofrece asi como el tiempo que le ha tomado poder estar capacitado para brindarlo.
Si bien nuestro trabajo es noble no por ello debe ser gratuito todo el tiempo ni en todas las circunstancias pues en orden de ser autosustentables en nuestro oficio y poder destinar recursos hacia la adquisición de herramientas, conocimientos, servicios y medios productivos que nos permitan realizar nuestro trabajo cada vez mejor, todos los que trabajamos en esto merecemos y requerimos de una remuneración que nos permita continuar y vivir decentemente, pienso yo que estamos en la mejor y mas justa posición para exigirlo, ¿si no quien más? no se diga ya si además nuestra profesión es la enseñanza a otros sobre este trabajo.
Tenemos derecho a que se nos escuche y se difunda nuestro trabajo, ya que es de interés y bienestar general para todos los que vivimos en este mundo. De igual manera nuestro trabajo nos exige que debemos cumplir cabalmente nuestros acuerdos y servicios con e profesionalismo que nos demanda nuestra misión, ya que no hay justicia en exigir algo cuando no se cumple lo acordado. No tenemos derecho de ofrecer conocimientos ni servicios que no podemos cumplir.
Se que todos en algunas ocasiones debido a nuestra falta de experiencia y conocimientos hemos sido poco profesionales, sin embargo es poco el margen y la regularidad en que deben permitirse tales incumplimientos, pues un error lo comete cualquiera, pero una serie de negligencias y errores continuos los comete alguien que no le interesa en absoluto su profesión y en casos graves debería de quedar cesado de su oficio como ocurre con cualquier médico, arquitecto, abogado o profesionista, los permacultores no somos ni debemos ser la excepción.
En el caso de los maestros e instructores estamos obligados a enseñar y transmitir correctamente nuestros conocimientos sin recelos ni mentiras, aceptando nuestras limitaciones e ignorancia y a la vez sin exagerar o enaltecer lo que sabemos, pues esta es la definición misma de la humildad, que es precisamente lo que debe distinguir a un maestro de verdad.
Debemos cumplir con nuestro servicio de la manera mas pulcra, decente y sobria posible, pues ningún cliente o beneficiado debería recibir servicio por parte de alguien que no se encuentre en su condición mental óptima y con esto me refiero a que sepa controlar sus vicios y abusos, mal carácter e indolencias cuando se trata de cumplir con su trabajo, en mi opinión cualquiera que omite esta parte, bajo ninguna circunstancia debería cobrar por sus servicios y solo dedicarse a prestar servicio social, hasta que entienda el valor de su oficio y el porque exige que la persona se encuentre a su máxima capacidad, pues en las manos de un permacultor se encuentran literalmente las semillas de un mundo renovado y la responsabilidad de que estas germinen adecuadamente, pues un permacultor es como un gran padre o madre en el sentido que vela por sus proyectos y sus alumnos y debe tratarlos con amor, responsabilidad y paciencia, pues no hay peor padre que un padre o madre vicios@ e irresponsable.
No afirmar “fuerzas” ni herramientas invisibles ni mezclar la metafísica ni todo aquello que pertenece a otro reino u orden espiritual dentro de un trabajo que es considerado como científico, pues la permacultura es ante todo un trabajo de la ciencia y es ahí donde debe radicar y no porque niegue la existencia de tales fuerzas, si no que ante la dificultad actual de nuestra posibilidad de medirlas, comprobarlas y observarlas por todos de manera imparcial es imposible determinar la veracidad que afirme cualquiera, repito: no es cuestión de incredulidad es cuestión de responsabilidad.
No tenemos el derecho de utilizar nuestros conocimientos y habilidades ni nuestra posición como permacultores, para dirigir o fomentar una opinión pública en torno a ninguna doctrina política ni religiosa y mucho menos si utiliza la indignación o la rabia para llevar su mensaje, pues esto es especialmente nocivo para tod@s, pues aunque cualquiera tiene el derecho de creer y practicar cualquier doctrina, corriente de pensamiento o estilo de vida, no tiene derecho de mezclarlo directamente ante una profesión científica pues con ello influirá y dirigirá injustamente sus observaciones, experimentos y aplicaciones ante la vista de todos y no permitirá que los demás lleguen a sus propias conclusiones y aprendizajes, creo yo que entre los mayores abusos que puede ejercer un ser ante otro es el de moldear e influir la mente, forma de ver el mundo y el aprendizaje ajenos, cada quien tiene derecho de descubrir y cuestionar su realidad de manera personal y libre, ya que por si fuera poco cualquiera que verdaderamente haya trabajado y observado de cerca la naturaleza, se dará cuenta que en ella todo es perfecto en medida, origen y destino, que todo esta en equilibrio y que cualquier extremo es siempre nocivo para la vida, que la naturaleza es sabia y que no necesita que la “salvemos” solo necesita que no nos interpongamos en su camino y ayudemos cuando nos lo pide únicamente.
Este trabajo es para aquellos que AMAN convivir con la naturaleza y con sus semejantes no es para aquellos que desean llevar una agenda política ni espiritual, si haces permacultura es porque amas trabajar con la tierra y con la gente no porque quieras reprender o re educar a los demás, esto que lo haga cada uno de manera personal en sus corazones y no debe importarnos ni siquiera si el resto “cambia” derivado de nuestro ejemplo.
Una vez más aclaro que es meramente mi opinión y punto de vista particular y cualquiera es libre de considerarla o simplemente desecharla,.
A todos los permacultores y permacultoras del mundo; reclamen aquello que les pertenece y se merecen y sientanse orgullos@s de su trabajo, háganlo con amor, con pasión y con entrega…….. pero ante todo sean felices haciéndolo.

Message to all permaculture workers and students. By: Rodrigo lanado.
To all permaculture workers, Students and professionals related to environmental services, I wish on this occasion to express my personal opinion on matters that affect us all those who perform this profession services.
Today it is extremely important to know the rights and obligations that require us in our work or profession, now that this work is gaining the necessary strength and enough momentum to really take shape as a major drive force it is when we must be well aware and prepared to meet the challenges that are emerging in our present and future in order to comply fully with the mission we have set; which it is to make this world a more glorious, beautiful and alive than ever.
What we do as permaculture and environmental services providers, as well as in any other profession requires seriousness, knowledge and commitment, which is earned based on time, effort, responsibility and continuing education. You will agree with me that it is impossible to become a professional without complying with the foregoing.
Of all the human professions and services that a human being can offer, few professions are as noble and have as much use for our world like this one, for the same reason as permaculture and providers of social / environmental services have rights and responsibilities to fulfill.
The rights and obligations that we are in a position to demand and meet, I think these are the most important;
Respect for our work, since precisely because our goals for regeneration, strengthening and conservation of natural and social fabric at all levels, requires the full support of all levels of government and society in general, because it benefits and involves us all in this generation and those to come.
A charge in a timely manner for our services that we consider is fair to carry out this work with dignity and efficiency, today more than ever in this society where careers and jobs that do not represent at all a service or a real benefit to society and nature, generates millions and are exalted in total disproportion, is when we most deserve a fair pay according to the extent of our work, cause there is no greater sign of respect for the work of others than to meet what has been agreed. Similarly we have the right to refuse to work with those who do not take this profession as seriously as we do.
Each person sets their share and what we ask in return for their service, according to the level of professionalism that also featured as the time it has taken you to be able to provide it.
While our work is noble by no means should be free at all times and in all circumstances because in order to be self-sustaining in our business and to allocate resources to the purchase of tools, knowledge, services and productive means to enable us to realize our work better, all of us deserves and requires a wage that allows us to continue our job and live decently, I think we’re in the best and fairest position to demand it, ¿ if not us who else? and not to mention if our profession is also teaching others about this profession.
We are entitled to being heard and our work is disseminated as it is of interest and general welfare for all who live in this world. Similarly our work exigue us to fully implement our agreements and services and professionalism that our mission requires us, as there is no justice in demand something we havent fulfilled ourselves. We have no right to offer knowledge and services that we can not provide.
I know that everyone sometimes (because of our lack of experience and knowledge) have been unprofessional, however there is little margin and regularity should be permitted on such violations because an error can be committed by anyone, but a series of negligence and continuous errors committed is sign of someone who is not interested at all in their profession and in severe cases should be ceased from office like any doctor, architect, lawyer or professional, the permaculture professional are not and should not be the exception.
For teachers and instructors are required to properly teach and pass on our knowledge without fear or lies, accepting our limitations and ignorance, yet without exaggerating or magnify what we know, because this is the very definition of humility, which is precisely what should distinguish a true teacher.
We must fulfill our service as neat, decent and sober as possible, any customer or beneficiary should not be serviced by someone who is not in optimum mental condition and by that I mean the professional should control his vices and abuses , bad temper and indolence when it comes to doing his job, I think anyone who ignores this part, under no circumstances should charge for their services and should work on social service, until he or she understands the value of their trade and why it requires that the person to be at is maximum capacity, because in the hands of a permaculture literally lie the seeds of a renewed world and the responsibility to germinate properly, because a permaculture is like a great parent in the sense that oversees projects and their students, and treat them with love, responsibility and patience, as there is no worse father, than a drug addict and negligent one.
Do not affirm the use or “super natural forces” or mix metaphysics or anything that belongs to another realm or spiritual order within a job that is considered scientific because permaculture is primarily a work of science and therein must file and not because it denies the existence of such forces, but it given the current difficulties in our ability to measure, check and observe them impartially, is impossible to determine the veracity claimed by anyone, I repeat: it is no question of unbelief is a matter of responsibility.
We have no right to use our knowledge and skills and our position as permaculture workers, to direct or encourage public opinion on any political or religious doctrine and even less if you use the anger or rage to carry your message, since this is particularly bad for everyone, because although everyone has the right to believe and practice any doctrine of thought and lifestyle, we have no right to mix it directly to a scientific profession, it would be an unfair influence and it would direct their observations, experiments and applications at the sight of all, and will not allow others to reach their own conclusions and lessons, I believe that among the major abuses that can exert a being to another is to shape and influence the mind, way of seeing the world and learning others without permissión or being asked first, everyone is entitled to discover and question their reality in a personal and free manner, since anyone who has really worked and observed nature closely, would realize that everything is perfect in its measure, origin and destination, everything is in balance and that any extreme end is always harmful to life, that nature is wise and does not need us “improve it ” it only needs that we do not interpose in their way and help only when asked to do so.
This work is for those who love to commune with nature and with his fellow man is not for those who want to take a political or spiritual agenda, if you practice permaculture is because you love working with the earth and people, not because you want to rebuke or re educate others, each person should internalize it at their hearts individually and should not matter even to us if the rest “change” derived from our example.
Once again clarified that it is merely my opinion and particular viewpoint and anyone is free to consider it or simply discard it.
